Subcity 15th Birthday Teaser
by Spacewood on Mar.04, 2010, under Glasgow, Nights Out, Shout Out
Here’s a few shots and mock ups for visuals i’ll be providing for Saturday night’s massive fun party, at The Arches. I’ve been working alongside the highly talented Alexander Martin to film some lush footage which pledges to please. Subcity’s 15th Birthday is guaranteed to be a mind-blowing and spectacularly special event with full sensory overload to make your eyes smile, your ears squeel and your body pulse. Myself, Visual Aids and Sweets, of Thunder Disco Club, will be providing the shapes and vectors for your body to pull. This stonking line up will be filling The Arches with great music to celebrate this special event with the only way it knows-banging.
This isn’t going to be your run of the mill dance night, this will be special-have a read at this list to see what’s in store. Tickets are getting lower and lower-so don’t miss out on this. You can swoop some up at The Arches , Tickets Scotland or the John McIntyre Building on Glasgow Uni campus. You know it makes sense.
Folio Update
by Spacewood on Feb.27, 2010, under Glasgow, Graphic Design, Nights Out, Shout Out
I added a few new pieces to my folio. First flyer is for an exciting new night, I Am, starting in Sub Club. Expect non stop electrickery and mad audio wizardry.
Wibble Wobble is also a new night in the pipeline. This will fill the niche market for dubstep and fidget and will prove to be heaps of fun.
I’ve also been working on an iPhone app for a company in South Africa. I’ll put some screen grabs of that up on Monday.
Save Otago Lane 27/02 Protest
by Spacewood on Feb.24, 2010, under Glasgow, Shout Out
As you may or may not know, Otaga Lane-famous home of Tchai-Ovna, Voltaire & Rousseau and Mixed Up Records-is under threat. There is a massive proposed housing and office development, that will change the character and feel of the area and result in loss of parking, green space/trees, privacy and possibly Tchai Ovna.
On Saturday 27/02 at 12pm, there will be a gathering at the lane with the intention of trying to take a photo of as many people as possible crammed in. There are already politicians from every party against this and 5,000 members in the Facebook group. The more people that come along the better. Help keep the character of this unique area alive. We are already close to losing Relics and Ruthven Lane to an office and penthouse development, lets not lose this.
New Audio Player
by Spacewood on Feb.19, 2010, under Music, Shout Out
I’ve been experimenting with a new audio player, as the previous one wouldn’t always load correctly in some browsers. Enjoy this Animal Colelctive mix and let me know if there’s any bugs.
Peath!
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
We Can Never Stop for iPhone
by Spacewood on Feb.18, 2010, under Shout Out
Just to let you know, that this site is fully optimized for iPhone. You can do all the things from your iPhone/iPod Touch that you can do from your computer. This includes, listening to posted music, watching videos, leaving comments, uploading your work, sharing the site with others and much more. I’m particularly excited about being able to listen to music from the site. Unlike Spotify and Last.fm iPhone apps, you can multi task while there is music playing-ie send texts, put sleep mode on, send emails etc. Also, you can’t normally listen to mp3s which aren’t on your iPod-but I got round that. Blessed WordPress.
Anyhoo, just access the site from your iPhone.
Psst…
by Spacewood on Feb.17, 2010, under Edinburgh, Glasgow, Shout Out
There’s a lot of fantastic work being created right now and there seems to be a lot of energy, excitement and passion surrounding the current scene. It’s a lot for one guy to cover and that is why I am reaching out to you.
I’m looking for people who know their stuff, about the arts in Glasgow & Edinburgh. You could be a musician, make up artist, stylist, designer, artist, photographer, film maker it doesn’t matter-I’m looking for interesting people who are willing to share their knowledge with everyone else in the community via blog posting. In return you’ll be part of the best new site in Scotland, get access to the best parties, some limited edition goodies but most importantly you’ll be acting as a megaphone for others voices and thus helping the community grow stronger, more diverse and more vibrant.
If your interested, contact me via the form here.
Cheers,
Chris
