Frog Faced Souply
by Spacewood on Nov.11, 2010, under Fashion, Glasgow
Frog Faced Souply are a husband and wife team living in Hamilton. He does the designs (Studied Graphic Design and Newspaper Design at Newcastle College of Art) and she does the rest (studied at the University of hard knocks) FrogFacedSouply was born as a reaction to all the vector based tee shirt brands that seemed to be popping up left, right and centre. We got back to design basics with pens, pencils, scissors, paper and glue. We wanted our designs to be instant and simple (like old railway posters of the 1930s or The Beggarstaff Brothers) but to have that hint of Pop Art D.I.Y.
Why not show some support for your local craftsman and swoop up a t-shirt over at frogfacedsouply.com
Tonight: Nightwalk
by AlexRMP on Sep.10, 2010, under Fashion, Glasgow, Nights Out
With the world in financial crisis, creativity is a non-essential. Apparently. It’s hard to look to the future and see it positively. So what you going to do about it?
Dress up. Dance. Look good. Let go.
Showcasing fashion, electronic music, visual art, performance art and photography, Nightwalk is a celebration of Glasgow’s night culture. Playing with what defines a club night, the Friday Night Takeaway team have assembled a myriad of up-and-coming Glasgow-based independent designers, performance artists and DJs and given them a platform.
With models working the runway down the centre of the dancefloor, DJs playing the latest in cutting edge electronic music from the stage, and photographers and videographers feeding a live stream of your unique fashion statements from the centre of the crowd, spectators, models and clubbers become one, united by one mission: to reinvigorate the forgotten art of hedonism.

Image Of The Day
by Spacewood on May.26, 2010, under Fashion, Image Of The Day
At first, this may not seem like a creative photograph, worthy of Image Of The Day. It’s what’s captured which makes it so impressive.
This image is taken from a Christian Dior fashion shoot in Soviet Russia in the late 50s. The contrast between the beautiful and elegant Parisian models against the bland and restrained style of the locals is quite impressive. Further in the collection you can see the wonder and disbelief of the Russian woman as they watch the Dior models and the lifestyle they embody. Quite sad really.

Les Garçons De Glasgow Interview
by Spacewood on Feb.27, 2010, under Fashion, Glasgow, Interview, Photography
I had a very polite chat with Daniel and Jonathan from the style blog Les Garçons de Glasgow.
The acclaimed and increasingly popular site is helping raise the awareness of style in Glasgow and documents the characters, personality and the honest representation of fashion in the city. This exclusive interview, proved insightful, informative and impressive, changing the way I understood the site. So without further ado, let’s take it away… (continue reading…)
