The Coveted Mag is Scotland’s only fashion magazine dedicated to supporting & promoting the Scottish fashion industry. Sarah Graham, editor, got in contact to share with us all the newest copy of The Coveted Mag and a little bio on the mag too. You can use the arrows at the side of the mag to navigate and Sarah has written a little bio on The Coveted Mag just below the magazine.

The magazine was founded by me, Sarah Graham a fashion stylist living in Glasgow. Having graduated in Fashion Marketing, and having worked for various magazines and newspapers on a freelance basis for many years, I felt frustrated that there were no magazines utilizing the wealth of fashion design talent in Scotland, instead opting to use high street chain stores and established international designers in their fashion spreads. Due to this, I decided to start The Coveted Mag, Scotland’s first and only fashion magazine dedicated to supporting and promoting The Scottish Fashion Industry. Issue One of The Coveted Mag came out in October 2009 and the response so far has been incredibly positive. We have previously worked with The Scottish Ballet, appeared on BBC Radio and have a few more exciting high profile collaborations in the pipeline. The magazine is available online and in print at selected stockists throughout Glasgow and Edinburgh. The print run is teeny tiny at the moment, but hopefully we can increase our print run to cover more of Scotland in the near future. As I live and work in Glasgow, along with many of our current contributors, I feel that the magazine is unfairly bias towards what is happening in Glasgow, so in the future, we plan to split the magazine into different regions of Scotland. For example, in each issue, we will have a creative team from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen all contributing fashion spreads, articles and reviews relating to all things fashionable in their local area. We also plan to support more fashion events. We are sponsoring the Made in the Shade Springtime Jamboree and the In the Company of Wolves Fashion Show, both taking place in Glasgow next month where you will be able to pick up a copy of our current issue.

We at The Coveted Mag feel that Scotland, and Glasgow in particular has a poor reputation when it comes to fashion innovation. Being home to two huge football teams, the WAG culture has rubbed off on the fashion choices available. Not everyone wants to wear UGG boots and carry a Louis Vuitton bag, although pacing down certain Glasgow streets and attending certain clubs, you wouldn’t know this. Scraping the surface, you will find some amazing, innovative designers, boutiques and entrepreneurs, many of which are unsure how to get their voices heard in a country whose media seems to be predominantly focused on showcasing the big high street names. That is where we come in!
